Wallflower Press

Wallflower Press

Wallflower Press is the largest independent film book publisher in the UK, specializing in cinema and the moving image. We are devoted to the publication of the highest-quality academic and popular literature in film, television and media studies as well as related areas of the visual arts, and publish over twenty new titles each year.

Among our most book series are SHORT CUTS, an entry-level introduction to Film Studies; DIRECTORS' CUTS, a collection of monographs and edited collections on some of the world’s most innovative and influential filmmakers; 24 FRAMES, a major 18-volume series of concise and accessible anthologies covering national and regional cinemas from around the world; CRITICAL GUIDES TO CONTEMPORARY FILM DIRECTORS, encyclopedic volumes on North American Directors and British and Irisih Directors; and ALTERIMAGE, focusing on alternative, cult and popular cinema.

In 2007, we launched two new series: the NONFICTIONS list of documentary-related titles, and CULTOGRAPHIES, individual studies of classic cult movies, as well as publication of the INTERNATIONAL FILM GUIDE, a 450-page yearbook of world cinema, with surveys of film happenings in over 125 countries, as well as articles on new trends in technology, distribution and the film festival circuit. The 2009 edition of the INTERNATIONAL FILM GUIDE will be published in January 2009 and distributed at major international film festivals and markets, including Berlin, Cannes, Tribeca, Miami, San Francisco, Los Angeles and others.
